In the two weeks leading up to my appointment I ensured that moisturized my skin, both internally and externally. I applied an emollient rich moisturizer to my skin least three times a day as well as consumed supplements that supported skin barrier function.

There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that collagen supports hydration and a healthy skin barrier - however, I've had chemical peels before which, were painful and extremely uncomfortable.

Fish oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids which are essential in treating inflammation and supporting the healing process.

It also provides skin barrier support by providing hydration - also essential before having a chemical peel, during the healing process and afterwards for maintenance.

Alpha lipoic acid is helpful in preventing acne, which can be painful to manage during the chemical peel process. It also helps to minimize burning and itching.

St. Virgo Organic Spot Treatment is naturally anti-inflammatory and supports the healing process by moisturizing and repairing the skin barrier.

Always consult with your practitioner to address your eczema concerns prior to receiving treatment.
